Welcome to Parkminster Division

Division Commissioner, Andrea Wellstead

Parkminster Division was established in 1979 and is made up of 3 districts that cover a number of villages in the South West of our County.

Our roots in Girl Guiding go back further than this,  however, as 1st Lower Beeding Guides were originally started by the Miss Godmans at South Lodge, Lower Beeding and they are celebrating their 100th birthday in 2017.

Each district has a number of Rainbow, Brownie, Guide and Senior Section units.

The Rainbows enjoy weekly meetings, playing games, cooking and making crafts.

The Brownies work towards interest badges while having fun playing games, making new friends and enjoying activities. They also go on Brownie Holidays and days out - including a trip to Guernsey.  The islanders are getting used to seeing our girls in their pink Sussex Central hi-vis jackets !!

The Guides also work towards badges, culminating in the Baden Powell Challenge, the highest badge a Guide can achieve. A number of Guides also work towards the different levels of the Duke of Edinburgh Challenge.

Guides have the freedom to contribute to the planning of their weekly meetings, and get to go camping each year, sometimes going back to basics, and other times going to activity centres for an action packed holiday.

Girls can belong to the Senior Section from their 14th to their 26th birthday. Senior Section members include Rangers, Young Leaders, Peer Educators, Duke of Edinburgh's Award and leaders under the age of 26.

Henfield district has its own Guide Hut, built in 1982, that houses 2 Rainbow units, 2 Brownie units, 2 Guide units, a Ranger unit and the Henfield Trefoil Guild.

Henfield units take girls from Henfield and surrounding villages including Albourne, Wineham and Small Dole.

Cowfold district has a Rainbow, Brownie and Guide unit in Cowfold, Partridge Green and Lower Beeding. Lower Beeding takes girls from Lower  Beeding, Nuthurst, Maplehurst, Mannings Heath and Plummers Plain.

Sharpenhurst district covers Barns Green and Itchingfield with a Rainbow and Brownie unit, and Southwater with 1 Rainbow unit, and 2 Brownie and Guide units. The district also has a Senior Section unit.

The Districts often meet up for joint events including a bi annual Swimming gala, Canoeing Regatta and fun days.

All units are run by volunteers and we always need more help to be able to offer more great opportunities to the girls and young women in our division.

If you live in one of our districts and you or your daughter would like to join us, please register her/yourself on our main girlguiding website https://www.girlguiding.org.uk/get-involved/ or email us: ccgirlguidingsussexcentral@gmail.com
